Luftwaffe Rob Myler
Team Season Preview[/u]
At one point it was unsure if this team would even make it onto the grid due to a shortage of places but when a fellow competitor pulled out, Robert Myler was given the green light to set up his rather controversial outfit. Luftwaffe, named directly from the German WWII air force, will take to the track with their striking camouflage livery and driver line up of Man Karpstein (Germany) and Onushi Okihara (Japan). It is hoped that such a brutal approach to racing will pay dividends but so far in testing only failures, mistakes and underperfoming has come their way.
Mid Season Report[/u]
The similarities to the war upon which this team are based are uncanny. A brutal and dominant start (Okihara's win and Karpstein's dangerous driving in Australia) with a succesful follow up (regular points finishes) and plenty of skirmishes on the way (yes, that massive shunt in Malaysia involving Burgbacher, Helkonnen and Thiery)...only for the effort to be spread too thin and the cracks start to show (many retirements and lack of consistent points). The brutal, and admittedly contraversial, approach does have its advantages but if Luftwaffe are to haul themselves back up to their former glory then they must learn to settle down and know when enough is enough. A new car fresh from the designer's board should help raise their competitiveness for the rest of the season and give Robert Myler's team the edge to succeed.
* replaced M.Karpstein in Malaysia and O.Okihara in Brazil
