Okay then, start from the beginning please…
Well to put it simply, GrandPrixManager is just a Formula One racing game. It uses an existing game called "GP3" and comes with the option of selecting no players, meaning that races can be automatically run without anyone actually doing any driving (the computer is just racing itself). With the use of an editor however, practically everything in the game can be changed completely!
So what is going to happen then?
Well, there are 11 teams in the game and the idea is that 11 people take part, each person taking control of their own team. They decide how it is set up and how it will look. Once the person has made their final decisions then I’ll get to work and edit their choices into the game. Once all the teams have finished then there will be a few test runs of the game to check everything works.
Then the fun really starts! With the 11 teams put into the game and set up accordingly for each person, a season of races is going to be run by the computer (probably one race a week for 10-20 weeks). In each race, points will be up for grabs…the higher your cars finish the more points your team will get. At the end of the season, the team owner with the most points is declared the champion!
Right then, so what is it I actually have to do?
If you want to take part and have your own team (provided there’s any spaces left!) then it’s really quite simple. Just choose 2 drivers you want in your team from a list of fictional drivers and then choose what characteristics you want your car to have (i.e. straight-line speed versus cornering speed). That’s it, all you have to do then is check up on the results when they happen and get competitive!
But how am I going to find out what’s going on and check my results?
Just head over to the "results" board and you will be able to find the results of the races when they happen . Also, you'll be able to keep up to date with the latest news and check out biographies for each of the teams.
Hold on, you said I can decide how my car looks?
Yes indeed. If you want to have your own custom designed car then just get in contact with me and we’ll sort it out. You can have whatever colour scheme and in whatever pattern you want and also you can have whatever sponsors you too (nothing offensive though, obviously).
Cool! Will it cost me anything?
Nope, this is completely free and just for a bit of fun!
I don’t think I quite understand a certain part of it…
Haha its alright! Thats what the query board is for. Just post your question and I'm sure someone will get round to answering you.
