Originally staged around the site of a World War 2 airfield, the Silverstone track raced on the runway service roads. In the modern day however things are a little more professionally done, with a full time race track constructed for the cars…arguably one of the best in the world. Although a few chicanes have been added in recent years to slow the cars down, the incredibly fast sweeping corners still remain and provide a great spectacle, pushing the car’s chassis its limits. Silverstone also has its straights too, which can (and usually do) provide good slipstreaming and overtaking opportunities and make for an exciting race.
