The Paul Ricard track is located on the top of an arid plateau in the south of France, with a stunning view of the Mediterranean on a good day. It is mostly used as a test track during the off season for its reliably good weather conditions and its mix of corners, including a very long straight and slow winding corners not to mention a few slow sections too. The circuit however is a shadow of its former self, the straight originally being a mile in length but when a driver had his rear wing fail on him and cost him his life in the mid 80’s then the circuit was drastically changed to its current layout. Although the old layout favoured a good engine, both a good engine and chassis can do well at this track now.
