Qualifying Summary[/u]
Group 1: Giancarlo, Blanc, Santo, Walton, Karpstein, Heppert
- Santo, the local hero, is one of the first out on track (sporting a special one off helmet design, see Screenshot1).
- Heppert sets the fastest time but Blanc isn't far behind his team mate (see Screenshot2).
- Walton's return from his ban begins with the slowest time anybody would set all session.
Group 2: Hawn, Mrazik, Northcutt, Concini, Thiery, Lukow
- Mrazik falls just short of the fastest time, but manages to split the 2Fast2Disney cars (see Screenshot3).
- Nobody else could come close.
Group 3: Gones, Helkonnen, Dimoulakis, Okihara, Callista, Cederberg
- Callista also looked to make a good impression on home soil but Cederberg was the fastest of this group.
- Still no one has beaten Heppert's time.
Group 4: Adauto, Glaston, Opet, Bliss
- All the cars on track are looking quick!
- But not quick enough, Heppert's time stands and he claims pole position for Round 05 of the GPM season!

Overview[/u]
Qualifying in sunny Spain today was very much a team affair as most of the drivers will be lining up on the grid tomorrow within only a handful of places between them and their team-mates. The pace from the pre-season test showed true aswell, with the better chassis cars running very strong. After the lack of performance so far this season, 2Fast2Disney really stepped up a gear today and almost claimed the first ever front row lockout. With Heppert on pole and Blanc lining up 3rd things are looking promising for them. Also in good shape are Teamo who start 2nd and 4th. Both Spaniards (Santo, PharmaOne and Callista, Bramall) will be starting in the top 10 too after some solid pace from their teams.
Looking further down the grid we can, unfortunately, see the same names once again. Walton returned from his 1 race ban to qualify in last place, with team mate Giancarlo faring no better just one place ahead. Also not performing too well were the Whizzbanger team, with Concini and Bliss lining up 19th and 20th respectively. The only consolation for these teams is the fact that they have strong engined cars on what is known to be a chassis circuit.
Early weather reports indicate that the heat and the sun is here to stay for the race on Sunday and if this is true then we can be assured of more of the same. But as we saw in Austria, good qualifying doesnt mean good race. From pole position, 2Fast2Disney fell off the pace rapidly and got swamped on the first few laps. Will the same happen this weekend or will they be able to hold onto their positions? Either way, half of the field will be looking for a repeat and eyeing up their chances.
