During the race this weekend in Spain, Jere Opet tried an overtaking move on Kraig Lukow but misjudged in, tapped the side of Lukow and almost sent him rolling. He was running in a strong points position at the time and rejoined in last place after the incedent. Because of this, it has been decided that Opet will be banned from participating for the next race in Germany. F1N Racing are reportedly unhappy about the decision, claiming that the ban is unfair since no actual accident was caused but are not willing to appeal against the decision. Victor Rautakaite (Lithuania) has been named as the driver to replace Opet next weekend.
More driver changes now, this time in the Virgin TR Camp. Team boss, Andy Haining, is starting to feel the pressure and wants to score some solid results. Because of this, from the next race onwards Emmi Giancarlo is going to be replaced by the team's reserve driver Alain Dubois. Dubois in his one and only race finished 7th (started in 20th) meanwhile Giancarlo has started 5 races, failed to finish 3 and also failed to score any points. It is believed that Dubois' stunning debut performance is just a sign of things to come and that promoting him from reserve to 2nd driver status will be the right choice.
