Okay then people! This thread is dedicated to the setting up (and testing) of the pre season cars. Here you can see the first glimpses of them as they roll out of the pits for the first time and onto the track. Of course these are just shakedown runs to evaluate the cars and to check that everything is working okay, so no laps are being timed and no records are being kept. Still, that doesnt stop them from pushing to the limit usually... NOTE : As screenshots become available they will be posted. Feel free to give your feedback .

The 2Fast2Disney team took to the track today in Monaco to shake down their new car. At the wheel were Nick Heppert (AUS) and Jean Blanc (FRA). Only a few laps were completed but it was enough to check the car was in working order. Although no official times had been set, it was reported that the car appeared to suit the track well and looked spectacular.

Also doing a shakedown run today was the contraversial Luftwaffe team. In their striking camoflauge livery, Onushi Okihara (JAP) ventured round the Istanbul racetrack to test the systems in their car. A spokesman for the team said shortly afterwards "Although we ran a few laps today in the car with Onushi, we would like to make it clear this is not our final livery and is likely to change in ze next few days".

In response to the other teams' appearances to do the initial shakedown runs of their cars, Team Lucifer followed the trend and took to the track earlier in Bahrain. Unfortunately the test was not as successful as 2Fast2Disney or Luftwaffe, where the engine overheated and set fire to the rear of the car... More reports to follow shortly.

I think it ended up on fire as a protest - it really just wanted to be pink and fabulous like my car.

Denial is a terrible thing. You know you wish you had Disney as your sponsor.

To round off the day, Team Pingu sent its two recently signed drivers, Brandon Hawn (USA) and Rueben Gones (BRA), off to Australia to evaluate the new car. They both gave positive feedback saying the handling of the car was good and could not wait to drive it extenstively in the proper tests. In other reports, the mechanics in Team Lucifer retrieved the Bahrain test car earlier and it is believed that it will be analysed to find out if this was a one off failure or a fault in the design.

Rain was not really the type of weather that the Whizzbanger team would have liked on their first outing, but the heavens in San Marino opened nonetheless. Luigi Concini (ITA) went out onto the track regardless of the conditions to do a few shakedown laps of the car but after a few harmless spins, returned to the pits, deciding that it was better not to push his luck and damage the brand new car.
